In terms of inking, this image is actually shrunk down to about 20% the size of what I inked it at, so that's probably why it's so clean.

In terms of style and simplicity, I just try to leave out all the "needless" detail on things. Lots of clothing fold, super-detailed hair, etc. Not only do I think it makes the pictures look nicer to keep things simple, it's probably easier to draw.
